Vision
Pastors Kelekona & Roberta Bishaw
Pastor Kele and Roberta are Native Hawaiian Pastors. They were born and raised in Hawaii and grew up in homes that were very similar in values and faith.
Pastor Kele is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools and Roberta is a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. Continuing their education, they attended the University of Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific University and Pacific Rim Bible College. Most of their ministry training was gained through Praise Chapel’s Discipleship training in the local church.
Together they have a family of seven children, five daughters, two sons and six grandchildren. Pastor Kele and Roberta enjoy spending time with and ministering to them.
They have served various communities in and around the islands. Pastor Kele is often called upon to share God’s Word and blessing over new and existing businesses, government agencies, military agencies, schools and community events. He can take the gospel out to many who would never step into a traditional church.
HISTORY
In November of 1982, Praise Chapel Maywood planted their first overseas church in Hawaii. Praise Chapel Christian Fellowship of Honolulu, Hawaii was birthed. On the brink of Hurricane Iwa sweeping through the islands the pioneer Pastors, Mike & Pam Stephens, along with a handful of faithful servants began the great work of taking the gospel of Jesus Christ out to the people.
With Pastors Mike & Pam Stephens
Kelekona & Roberta Bishaw were one of the first couples to come to the new church. They had just recently given their lives to Jesus. They felt God drawing them to this little church and the new pastors.
In 1987, Pastor Kelekona (Kele) and Roberta were launched out to start Praise Chapel Kailua in their hometown. Ater a few years, a ministry leadership need arose, and Pastor Kele and Roberta were called back to their mother church, Praise Chapel Honolulu.
1993 Ordination of Pastor Kele & Roberta
In 1993, Pastor Kele and Roberta were ordained as the senior pastors of Praise Chapel Honolulu. With Pastor Kele at the helm, the Lord started impressing on him the need to help people navigate their new-found walk with God by practical application of God’s Word to daily life.
In 2008, Pastor Kele felt that God was taking him in a new direction. To mark this new era, the name of the church was changed to Real Life Christian Center (Praise Chapel Christian Fellowship Honolulu Hawaii DBA Real Life Christian Center) or RLCC.
The Inspiration behind the name change was God impressing on Pastor Kele to teach the people how to live successful and abundant lives even though we are all imperfect human beings. We are all still deserving of God’s love, grace, and mercy. We live in a world with real life challenges.
